“No, not going to Navy Pier and getting on that damn ferris wheel.”
“Come on, Cheryl, please.”
“No, take Betty, she’s the brave one.”
“Betty isn’t in town. Come on, I wanna go.”
“No amount of your begging will get me on that wheel, it scared the hell out of me last time and this one’s taller.”
“Only by forty-eight feet and you survived the last one. Don’t be a baby.”
“Don’t you ‘don’t be a baby’ me, Ethel. No.”
“Cheryl, you admitted you liked it last time. What if I treat you to Gene and Georgetti’s after?”
“Oh, maybe.”

The Ferris Wheel at Navy Pier in Chicago

I love Ferris Wheels. I missed this FridayFictioneers photo prompt by my pal Dale Rogerson somehow or I would have had the girls on it last week. I knew they would want to go, well at least Ethel, so I’m writing this now. I see Rochelle is raiding Dale’s photos again to give her writers inspiration. Here are the Ferris Wheel stories. The Ferris Wheel was invented by George Washington Ferris as America’s answer to the Eiffel Tower for the 1893 World’s Fair in Chicago and was located in the Midway of the White City

  1. Never to late for a fun read…. 😎

  2. Very entertaining dialogue and ends in ice cream (guessing on Gene & Georgetti’s!) which is just right 🙂

    1. Gene & Georgetti’s is a famous Chicago Italian restaurant. The key to Cheryl’s heart and the way to get her on the wheel.

      1. Ah ok, I should have googled it.

  3. Dear Ted,

I’m not sure Ethel could even get me on a Ferris wheel with sushi. I’ve never been on one and heights scare the peejeebers out of me. I guess that’s why God made me so short. 😉 Good story in any event.

    Shalom,

    Rochelle

  4. Give enough incentive she will suddenly try this wheel too.
