Chimera 66 #4… UGLY FRUIT? NO, GUAVA!

guava 2

“No way am I trying that!”

“Come on Cheryl, its delicious. Don’t be such a baby.”

“I’m not a baby, Ethel, I just don’t like the looks of it.”

“But Guava’s rich in vitamin C and helps cure bad breath.”

“So, now you’re saying I have bad breath? That’s rich coming from you, Ethel.”

“No! I mean it’s good for you.”

“Never, it’s an ugly fruit.”

(My apologies to my friend Suzanne for not writing something Ghoulistic in my first post at the GGP)

  1. I have to agree with Cheryl, it is an ugly fruit, but it is delicious! Great story Ted!!

    1. Thanks, Betty… I don’t like the texture. When can we expect another story on your blog ‘Irwin’s Place’?

  2. Methinks that for Cheryl the guava is plenty scary. Nice work, Ted. I always enjoy popping round for a giggle.

    1. I appreciate it when you do. Thanks for the nice words on my photo the other day for FF.

  3. I always hated “guava” anything and grew up in Florida, so I agree with the speaker.

    1. HaHa… me too, Jacqueline.

  4. Good one, Ted! From bad breath to battered butts, guava can handle it. 🙂

      1. Maybe we should notify Dr Oz… 🙂

  5. Hi Ted, but Guava is my favorite fruit, how can anyone call it ugly?

    1. Uh oh… don’t tell me criticizing Guava is up there with with dissing someone’s dog!

  6. Hehe. If something doesn’t look right to you, it’s hard to choke it down. I know the feeling.

    1. Sometimes your stories are a little hard to choke down… but I’m always satisfied when I do.

  7. No need to apologize, Ted — you brought Ethel and Cheryl. What more could I ask for? 🙂

  8. One of these days I’ll do a scary one, Suzanne.

  9. I swear I’ve had this conversation, but it was about eel on sushi (which I love!) and not guava…I think. Maybe it was something else that someone else made, and I was on Cheryl’s end.

Great piece! I love conversational pieces!

    1. Thanks, Tony. I’m not a big sushi fan (and one of my daughters runs a sushi restaurant) but I love the wasabi sauce. I love conversational pieces too.

  10. Guava … the new milk.

  11. It looks like a mutant tomato. I’ve never had one.
